Detovo Academy Tech Foundations
Tech Foundations is a two-part programme designed to give learners a strong, practical base in the tools and ways of thinking that underpin modern digital roles.
The programme combines:
Understanding Linux for Beginners – working confidently with a Linux environment as used in servers, cloud and DevOps.
Python Coding Fundamentals – learning to think like a developer and build small tools for automation and data tasks.
Together, these courses prepare participants for progression into roles and further training across Linux/DevOps, Cloud, Python, Business Analysis and Project Management.
Jobseekers and career changers interested in IT, digital and technology roles.
Apprentices and early-career professionals needing core technical foundations.
Learners supported by partners such as Shaw Trust, especially those who are underrepresented in technology or returning to work.
Business Analysts and Project Managers who need a stronger technical and data-aware foundation.
Intensive bootcamp:
2–3 weeks, 4–5 days per week, 5–6 hours per day
Extended programme:
8–12 weeks, 3–4 hours per week (live + self-study)

Business Analysis Foundations
Understanding how organisations, processes and systems fit together
Turning business problems into clear goals, requirements and user stories
Stakeholder conversations, basic interviewing techniques and active listening
Visualising processes and data flows with simple diagrams and maps
Project Management Foundations
Planning and breaking down work into tasks, backlogs and milestones
Scheduling, simple tracking and progress reporting
Basics of Agile and more traditional approaches, and when to use which
Running check-ins, stand-ups and review sessions that respect people’s time
Applied Project Simulations
Learners work through a practical change scenario, combining BA and PM skills:
clarifying objectives
mapping “as-is” and “to-be”
shaping a simple plan and risks log
presenting recommendations and status clearly to a “stakeholder” panel.
